Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 August 2026 · Last updated: 12 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how NaijaGateway Solutions (a business name registered in Nigeria under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020, Business Name No. 8399472, “NaijaGateway”, “NGS”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information about you when you use our website, dashboard, and APIs (together, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information generated as you use the Services, and information from third parties that help us verify identity and process transactions:

  • Account information: your name, email address, phone number, and password.
  • Identity & KYC/KYB information: Bank Verification Number (BVN), National Identification Number (NIN), date of birth, residential/business address, and, where required, government-issued ID and business registration details. We collect this to verify your identity and comply with applicable financial-services and anti-money-laundering obligations.
  • Financial & transaction information: wallet balance, transaction history, virtual account details, and the bank account details you provide for withdrawals. We do not store full card numbers; card payments are handled by our payment processors.
  • Usage & technical information: IP address, device and browser information, API request logs, and cookies.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and operate your account and provide the Services;
  • To verify your identity and perform KYC/KYB and fraud-prevention checks;
  • To process airtime, data, cable TV, electricity, identity-verification, and wallet transactions;
  • To provide support, send service notifications, and respond to disputes;
  • To secure the Services, detect abuse, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

3. Legal basis for processing

We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), on the bases of your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our compliance with a legal obligation, and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as needed to deliver the Services or as required by law, including with:

  • Service providers that fulfil transactions — for example telecom operators, billers, banks, identity-verification providers, and payment processors;
  • Regulators, law-enforcement, and courts where we are legally required to disclose;
  • Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or reorganisation, subject to this policy.

5. Data retention

We retain personal and transaction data for as long as your account is active and thereafter for the period required to meet legal, regulatory, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.

6. How we protect your information

We apply technical and organisational safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging. Wallet debits use a reserve-first model designed to prevent incorrect or double charges, and failed transactions are refunded to your wallet. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and the relevant authority of any breach as required by law.

7. Your rights

Subject to the NDPA/NDPR, you may request to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.

9. Children

The Services are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. International transfers

Where information is processed outside Nigeria by our service providers, we take steps to ensure it is protected in line with the NDPA/NDPR.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
